EPISODE 32
Indrani lets
Chandni know that PP would like to take her out for dinner but Chandni is
hesitant to go. She's still afraid to leave the house and venture outside with
any unknown person. Indrani assures her everything will be okay since she's
going with her fiancé and even lets Chandni know that if anything does happen,
she can call her up and she'll come get her right away. She's still a bit
hesitant but with some sweet talking, Indrani gets Chandni to agree to the
date. She's all dressed up and ready to go. PP escorts her out, placing his arm
around her shoulder. She's immediately uncomfortable, shoving his arm
off....something Advay notices from a distance.
In his room, he's
lost in the thought of PP taking her out for a date. Furious, her throws a
glass and shatters a mirror. Nani is shocked by his anger since Chandni's pain
is exactly what he wanted. Advay continues to deny that he has any feelings for
Chandni and states that he's furious that people like her and her family exist
in the world. Nani again echoes her concerns that Advay could be wrong in his
judgement and asks him to think about the Chandni he knew growing up....his
best friend.
Back at the house,
Mama confronts Indrani on her treatment of Chandni. He blames her for
everything bad that has happened to her, including ruining her childhood. It's
here where we learn more of what took place 16 years ago. Indrani and her
sisters used a fake dummy dressed as Dev's mother and had it
"levitate" in front of a young Chandni. Indrani knew that if she put a
"black magic" accusation no
one would believe her but if a child did everyone would believe it. She even
convinced Chandni to reveal her and Dev's secret meeting place when he went
into hiding with his brother to get away from the townfolk. Chandni might have
thought she was being helpful but little did she know what was actually going
on. Mama continues to explain Chandni's grief, stating that she's lost her best
friend, her father doesn't remember her and now unbeknownst to her, her mother
is selling her off for money.
Indrani immediately
stops her brother to point out that she's had to fight her own battles to get
where she is today. She might have raised Chandni but there's one thing keeping
them apart. Chandni is not her real daughter....in fact, she's her step
daughter and will always remain one. Even as her brother points out all the
crimes she's committed, Indrani continues to defend herself, using their
current situation as proof. She points out that the only reason Chandni is
alive and well is because of her. If her husband is now the head priest, it's
because of her. If they have shelter and respect in the society it's because of
her. She might of committed the crimes, but each person had a hand to play in
them....perhaps even Mama.
For that evening,
PP takes Chandni to a dark, quiet restaurant. He then reveals that it's
actually a secret party and a crowd quickly gathers around them, dragging them
to the dance floor. While everyone is drinking and dancing and having a good
time, Chandni begins to panic. There's too many people around, too much noise
and then, the flashbacks of her kidnapping and torture. At this point, she
utters "Dev" and Advay instantly can sense her calling for him.
Feeling overwhelmed, Chandni immediately calls Indrani who instead of picking
up the call, completely ignores it. Just then, she gets a call and it's from
Advay. He's calling to check in on her but all she can utter is
"Advay" before the phone gets knocked out of her hands. On the other
end, Advay is worried; he knows something is wrong.
PP later finds a distraught Chandni and instead of taking her home, takes her to a bedroom. He leaves the room for a few minutes, asking her to wait for him. As she's alone, she instantly starts to feel dizzy and realizes something is wrong. She tries to walk towards the door but cannot keep her balance long enough to get there. Just as she's about to pass out, Advay arrives and she falls into his arms.
He takes her to a
bench outside and tries to wake her up. Chandni does regain consciousness but
is now mumbling about being afraid of water. When Advay tells her that nothing
bad has happened to her, she instantly hugs him; completely taking him by
surprise. Chandni then begins to pour her heart out to him, conveying the story
of her kidnapping and torture. Here, we find out that Chandni was abducted from
the market and held captive for 3 days. Even though the kidnapper never touched
her, he did attempt to drown her, which still causes her nightmares. Chandni
admits going out in public scares her, being around unknown people frightens
her....she starts to shake, panic and lose her breath. Upon hearing all this,
Advay is overcome with emotion and ends up hugging her back.
She soon ends up
unconscious again and Advay remembers what Nani had told him: try to remember
the Chandni he knew growing up. He recalls their childhood together and all the
fun and laughter they had. Trying to find the Chandni he knew as a kid, all
Advay can do is stare at her. At last, he gently rests her head on his chest.
Is the Dev hidden within Advay starting to come back?
