Episode Review: October 2nd, 2012

Khushi and Arnav return to their room.  To act like nothing weird has happened, Khushi talks about their walk outside and looking at the stars.  As Arnav opens a curtain, he notices another camera fitted into a plant.  He turns to Khushi and he sort of gestures to her that there is another camera in the room.  After both have changed, Arnav pulls Khushi onto the bed.  He leans in to kiss her but then remembers about the camera being present in their room.  So instead, he says that he's tired and the two decide to go to bed.  Arnav pulls the covers over both their heads for some privacy and they cuddle underneath the blanket.  Khushi tells him that she likes this small world of their, while Arnav makes a smart remark.  He then tells her that they are finally properly married, with all the rituals completed.  The next day, Khushi serves the family chai, while keeping alert for any cameras.  She goes to the kitchen and begins to make poodi halwa.  Nani and Anjali come into the kitchen and begin to talk to her about her first meal.  As they taunt and tease her, they end up making her nervous and scared that she may make a mistake.  Even Buaji calls her up to remind her not to make a mistake with her cooking.  They leave her alone to cook until Mami comes into the kitchen, making her nervous all over again that she ends up putting more water into the poodi dough.  At the table, everyone starts to eat what Khushi made but soon realize that it doesn't taste good.  However, they all pretend to enjoy the food, not letting her realize it taste bad.  However, when she tastes it herself, she realizes that it's bad, even stopping Arnav from eating.  Arnav tells her that she made the meal with love and therefore, he has no complaints.  Khushi then suggest they all open the wedding presents together and Anjali says she will ask Shyam to join them too, not really pleasing Arnav.

Everyone then begins to open the wedding presents with Arnav keeping a close eye on Shyam.  Arnav then takes Khushi hand and begins to leave until NK stops them but Anjali says its okay for them to be alone.  Before going upstairs, Khushi asks NK for a favour; to make sure no one leaves the living room until the presents are opened.  Without a reason, NK agrees to Khushi's request and she follows Arnav upstairs.  Shyam tries to make an excuse to leave by saying that he is tired but NK says that since he is part of the family, he can't leave until all the presents are opened.  Anjali is happy at this statement but Nani realizes something is not right.  Arnav and Khusi enter Shyam's room and as Khushi acts as lookout, Arnav begins to search his laptop.  Downstairs, Shyam again attempts to leave the room but NK again is able to stop him from leaving, making the family a bit surprised.  However, when NK gets a call, Shyam is able to leave the room to see what Arnav and Khushi are up to.  Arnav then finds a file with videos in it and when he and Khushi begin to watch them, they are surprised to find that they are videos of them returning from the wedding and of them in their room.

They then see the video of him and NK discovering the weird wire and notice a guy wearing a blue bracelet; the one that Shyam also wears.  As they go through more videos, they continue to see the same guy with the blue bracelet but unfortunately cannot see the face.  When Khushi notices that one of the videos was from Anjali's room, she gets scared that the cameras may see them too but Arnv reassures her that there are no cameras in the room.  All the while, Shyam walks upstairs to check up on Arnav and Khushi.

The two than see a video of the blue bracelet guy spreading glass shards onto a carpet.  The video then goes blurry and Arnav tries to figure out what happened next.  They then re-watch Anjali's fall, which caused her miscarriage.  A furious Arnav states that the glass shards have something to do with Anjali's miscarriage and says that he won't let the person get away with it.  As Khushi tries to calm Arnav down, they begin to hear footsteps approaching.  Shyam begins to head towards a room and when he opens the door, he looks a bit surprised.

What worked: Arnav and Khushi working together.  The last time the two paired up was a year ago to bring Payal and Akash together.  The two have now come together to take down the villian once and for all and they know that it's not going to be easy.  Khushi has had her experience of dealing with Shyam and trying to expose him.  She knows it's not easy as Shyam has several excuses and lies as cover-ups.  Arnav has never taken on Shyam head-to-head, so working with Khushi and using her experience is a bonus for him.  The two also make an awesome team, each with their own strength.  Arnav has the power and money to get things done and also has an alert eye (noticing the cameras right away) while Khushi has the ability to think on her feet and make up lies while also being very resourceful.  With the two of them working together, they are bound to get into a few fights and quarrels over ideas and views but those will be very entertaining to watch.  Let's see how far Team Raizada gets in taking Shyam down.

What didn't work: N/A

Highlight: Arshi's "under the blanket" romance.  Yes, the scene was simple and sweet and probably lasted only 30 seconds but it was really adorable.  It's nice to see that even with cameras watching their every move, they are able to create their own world, just for the two of them.  This is them: crazy, unique and just so cute.  These simple romantic scenes really show us the beauty of the couple.  They don't need an elaborate or long scene to show that they care or love each other; it just comes naturally.  Best part was when she stated that she finds the outside world a bit weird and he responds with maybe the outside world finds her a bit weird.  The way she hit him on the chest was really cute.

Episode Review: October 1st, 2012

Arnav carries Khushi to their room and lays her down on the bed.  He then leans in to kiss her but soon backs away, with her than grabbing his arm.  She tells him she feels bad for Dadi leaving and asks Arnav to bring her back but he says that even if she does come back, she won't be happy.  When Khushi apologizes for being the reason Dadi left, Arnav tells her not to as it was none of her fault.  As they talk, someone appears to be watching them from a camera, hidden in a flower bouquet; it's Shyam.  He's watching Arnav and Khushi through the hidden cameras until he's interrupted by Anjali.  He makes an excuse of having work to do and she believes him, leaving him to eavesdrop on the newlyweds.  Khushi than tends to Arnav's wound and asks if it hurts.  When he says no, she says hiding one's pain doesn't make it go away.  She tells him she knows he's in pain but doesn't push him to talk about it.  Instead, she reassures him that she'll always be with him.  Arnav than tells Khushi that when he found out about the truth, he didn't know how to react.  He felt trapped as he couldn't forget what happened to his mother but still wanted to be happy and forget his past.  Khushi tells him that instead of running from his past, he should accept it and make it a part of his life; make his parents a part of his life.  The two than share a hug but are interrupted by a knock at the door.  It is the disturbers, compiled of NK, Akash, Anjali and Payal who drop by to tease Arnav and Khushi.

They playfully joke around with them, refusing to leave until they get their present.  Arnav promises Anjali to always keep Khushi happy and then pays them to leave.  As he pushes NK and Akash, the flower bouquet with the camera in it falls down but Khushi says it's okay.  After everyone has left, she begins to pick up the flowers and Arnav notices something on the floor.  As he goes closer to see what it is, Shyam begins to fear that Arnav has found the camera.  He is relieved when Arnav simply picks up his phone and walks away but is startled when Anjali walks in the room.  He closes his laptop and continues to tell her she has work.  He finally agrees to have coffee and when she leaves, he checks up on Arnav and Khushi to find them not in their room.  Outside, Khushi is waiting for Arnav.  She asks him why he messaged her to come meet him here and he says its because someone is keeping an eye on them.  He tells her about the camera in the flower bouquet and they both wonder who could have put it there.  Arnav suspects its Shyam but doesn't want to say anything until he's certain.  He says there are probably cameras around the house so they have to be alert.  Just then, Anjali comes by and asks them what they are doing there.  Khushi says that they just wanted to sit outside for a while, causing Anjali to state that no one seems like sleeping tonight, including Shyam

Anjali tells them that Shyam has been stuck to his laptop doing something for a while and doesn't feel like sleeping, causing Arnav and Khushi to be shocked.  When Anjali leaves, Arnav and Khushi confirm his suspicion and determine that Shyam has installed cameras around the house to keep an eye on them.  She states that Shyam always has a plan up his sleeve and Arnav tells her that a man like that will stoop to any level.  He says that their wedding was his biggest defeat and Arnav is sure that not only will Shyam not give up, but he'll definitely be planning something else.  When Khushi states that the cameras must have a wire or a switch, Arnav remembers when NK had noticed weird wires.

They wonder how the cameras were installed in the house and Arnav says that Shyam must have taken advantage of Anjali at that time.  He then remembers seeing the bill for the cameras on Anjali's credit card and puts it together that Shyam bought those cameras with her card.  He then states that with the cameras, Shyam must also have some footage, which he's probably hidden.  If they find the footage, they could use it as evidence.  The problem is is that the footage is probably on his laptop and getting into their room without him noticing will be hard.  Arnav assures Khushi that things will be okay but for right now, they just have to be alert.

What worked: Shyam's next plan in action.  If he couldn't stop their wedding from happening, the next best thing is to keep an eye on them.  Shyam's defeat has made him more determined to reach his ultimate destination.  What that destination is is still unknown but we do know that the one obstacle in his way is Arnav and Khushi.  Now that the two are married, it's going to be hard to separate them so instead of doing that, he's keeping an eye on them.  Not just them, but he has the entire house under CCTV.  With Shyam more determined than ever, we are bound to see more of his plans unfold to reveal his true reason for wanting to return to the house.  Let's see what Shyam does next.

What didn't work: Where's Dadi?  So the bitter mean old woman enters the house with a bang but we can't even see her leave.  She's suddenly vanished from the house without a trace...just like Masala Mama (BTW, whatever happened to him).

Highlight: Arnav realizing there are cameras in the room.  Finally, the sharp minded ASR is back and back with a bang he is; it only took him one look to realize there was a camera in the flowers.  Arnav has put the pieces together to figure out that Shyam has placed cameras around the house to keep an eye on them.  Why he did this, neither Arnav nor Khushi know but are determined to find out.  With the remarriage and past secrets track wrapped up, it's time to turn our attention to the show's biggest track; Shyam's true colours.  He revealing, the second time around, will definitely be harder than as Shyam has learned his lesson before and will be a lot more careful.  However this time around, Arnav and Khushi have teamed up to take the creep down once and for all.  With Arshi as a detective team, one can expect some hilarious moments, some sweet and romantic moments and the usual arguing and bickering which we all love.  This is bound to be a very interesting track.

Special Episode Review: Arshi Wedding

Everything was absolutely perfect in today's episode; from Arnav's decision to their wedding to them finally coming home.  Everything was just perfect.  All five episodes this week have been absolutely amazing, delivering power packed performances and a lot of intense drama.  This week returned the show we all fell in love with and reminded us all of why we fell in love with Arnav and Khushi.

Arnav
Arnav truly showed what a real man is and that he is nothing like his father.  Unlike his father, he was not going to leave, abandon or desert the woman he loved.  Instead, he was going to stand by her and be faithful to her, just like he promised.  Arnav's arrival at the wedding sort of scared me, based on the previous episode but like everyone else, we're glad he came.  When he proclaims to everyone that he wants to move on from his past and begin to live his life with happiness, it brings a smile to everyone's face as that is what they have all wanted from the start.  Arnav has lived his life for the last 14 years in his past; hating whatever happened and carrying that baggage with him constantly.  Today, he chose to finally drop that baggage and start a new life as he wanted to be happy, be with someone he cared about and who cared about him too.  Throughout the wedding, you could not wipe that smile off his face.  It was like new life was breathed into the angry young man and he was reborn again on his wedding day.

Khushi
I could not have been any happier for this girl today; she finally got the happiness she deserved.  After months of misunderstands and being treated with disrespect, the only she loves the most made her his wife, respectful and with all the traditions.  Khushi's undying faith that Arnav would come took her love for him to a new level.  Despite everything that was happening, she didn't think once that he wouldn't come, even though everyone told her differently.  Khushi finally got her dream wedding and was returned her happiness by the man who took it away.  Just as eager as she was to marry Arnav, we were all just as eager to watch them get married.  Khushi has definitely brought happiness into Arnav's life and I'm glad that he could bring that same happiness into her life too.  The girl is one tough cookie but she proves to all of us that will faith, trust and love, anything is possible.

Anjali
Now that's a supporting and loving sister.  Anjali has always supported Arnav and Khushi's relationship and she proved that today as well.  She tells her dead beat of a husband that Arnav and Khushi's love is so strong that it can overcome any hurdle.  She refuses to help her husband stop their wedding and for the first time, she does something her husband doesn't want her too.  Let's hope we continue to see this kind of Anjali, who takes decisions for herself and not let her slime of a husband make them for her.

Akash and NK
These two are absolutely amazing together.  Just add Arnav to the mix and things get better.  True to their roles as younger brothers, they tease and taunt Arnav on his wedding day; a day nobody thought they'd see.  Let's see what else these two do to bother Arnav and his new bride.

Gaima
She's a lucky woman to have such an understanding family and such a forgiving son-in-law.  Garima too has carried this part of her past with her but has never allowed it to enter her present life till recently.  Arnav doesn't blame her for what happened and that provides a relief to her.  Hopefully, she can forgive herself for what happened and move on with her life, just like Arnav has decided to do so.

Dadi
Even Dadi was great in the episode.  She is called back by Shyam to stop the wedding again by reminding Arnav that Khushi's aunt is responsible for the death of his parents.  This woman has been determined to seek revenge for her son's death, not realizing that he chose death over facing the consequences.  Swati Chitnis who plays Dadi did a wonderful job in portraying the stubborn and narrow-minded grandmother, a character that was hated by a lot of fans.  Dadi's last attempts to stop the wedding didn't work, with Arnav choosing to forget his past instead of taking revenge.  With no ammunition left, she leaves the house and the show....possibly for now.

Shyam
Just when he thought everything was going his way, Arnav has to surprise him.  Shyam is even willing to poison Anjali's ear against this marriage to stop it but it doesn't work this time.  Just watching his face throughout their wedding was priceless.  The frustration and anger at the fact that his plan to separate them didn't work and the fact that he now had to witness their wedding was very enjoyable to watch.  To make matters worse, Dadi's last attempt to stop the wedding didn't even work, leaving him up the river without a paddle, and probably a boat too.

Nani
Oh how I love Nani.  She is one of the most patient elders I've seen on TV.  She's willing to let her grandchildren speak and make their decisions.  She gives them their space but is also there to comfort them and give them advice.  I loved how she asked Arnav if he thought his decision through because she didn't want to see Khushi hurt in the future.  She knows Arnav and his anger and wants to make sure that Khushi no longer has to bear the brunt of his anger.  She knows that Khushi has suffered a lot in the past and doesn't want her emotions to be toyed with again.  She has full faith in Arnav and his reassurance of his decision makes her a proud grandmother.  Dadi can learn something from her.

The Wedding
Unique, simple and beautiful.  These words not only describe Arshi as a couple but also describe their most anticipated wedding.  It was a beautiful wedding, full of love and trust.  The wedding truly portrayed Arnav and Khushi's own individual style.  It had the full scale rasams and celebrations that Khushi wanted and also had the minimum number of guests which Arnav enjoyed.  The most anticipated wedding of television went off in its own unique style, staying true to the magic and charm of the show.  September 28, 2012 is one day that the fans will cherish and remember forever.  Congratulations to Mr. And Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada.
