Episode Review: August 21, 2012

Arnav attempts to kiss her again but this time, she sees a shadow by the poolside and pushes him away.  The two then make their way back downstairs where they join in on the celebration.  Arnav takes Anjali to the side and reminds her to take care of her health.  He then goes upstairs to get her medication while the family sits with her.  As he head upstairs, Shyam quickly switches the pills with another bottle and departs her room, but not before seeing Arnav come upstairs.  Arnav returns with the medication and gives it to Anjali who looks unwell.  Shyam returns to his hideout where he watches as Anjali takes the medication.  He states that sooner or later, he will need to call the doctor.

Back at home, Buaji is telling Garima how the Dadi had constantly asked for her and that she should have been there.  She then goes on to tease Khushi about being crazy when a nurse enters the house.  The nurse states that she has been sent by Arnav to take care of Babuji.  Garima calls up Arnav and he confirms that he sent the nurse so that Garima can attend all the functions for the wedding.  Buaji is happy that Garima can now attend the wedding functions while Garima says to herself that she can no longer keep her secret and must tell Khushi.  Later that night, Khushi is talking to Arnav thanking him for sending the nurse.  She tries to have small talk with him but when he is unable to do so, she gets mad at him.  She then continually states that she's hanging up the phone, to which Arnav says okay.  She then asks him to hang up first and when he does, she calls him back, telling him that he wasn't suppose to do that and that they were suppose to go back and forth, arguing.  Arnav ends up being very quiet and then changes his voice to sound like Akash, to tease Khushi.  He burst out laughing and the two continue to talk through the night.  The next morning, Payal is coordinating the decorations while Akash praises her.  Arnav bring the priest and tells him to make sure everything is done according to the customs, to which Akash asks if he's okay.  Later that morning, he is signing off checks when he notices something wrong with Anjali's credit card bill.  When he questions her, she realizes her credit card is missing and decides to cancel it right away.  Just as she is about to leave, Arnav asks her where she is going and she informs him that she is off to meet a friend.  Later in the day, Arnav asks Payal if the she ordered everything the priest needed and when she asks him to look at the decorations, he says he can't as he is going to the mandir.  Everyone is shocked upon hearing this but he clears up their imaginations, stating that he is going there to meet Khushi as her family will be there too.  Dadi suggest they all go to the mandir and hopes to finally meet her mother.

At the mandir as Buaji, Garima and Khushi are praying, Garima asks Devi Maya for the strength to tell Khushi the truth about her past as she can no longer lie.  Just then, the Raizada family pull up to the mandir and everyone except Arnav begin to make their way up.  They enter the mandir as the aarti begins and Dadi starts to look at Garima from behind.

What worked: Arnav and Khushi's phone conversation.  Except for when he was kidnapped, I don't recall Arnav and Khushi ever having a quiet, nice and peaceful conversation over the phone.  Their phone conversation was not only cute and sweet, but shows how far they've come as individuals and as a couple.  In the past, they would call each other to either irritate or yell at each other, but nowadays, they are being romantic and playing around with each other.  They now care for one another and would do anything to make sure the other wasn't hurt.  This romantic side of Arnav is well enjoyed.

What didn't work: N/A

Highlight: Everyone's constant shocked expressions at Arnav's behaviour.  Who would have thought that Arnav Singh Raizada would ever agree to marriage with all the rituals and customs, let alone know about them.  This man is making everyone shocked with his changed behaviour in doing things he would not normally do, such as have a raksha daga tied on or wanting to go to the mandir.  The change in his behaviour shows that he indeed is human and can change and adapt to the situations and times.  The new Arnav is well accepted by the audience and I'm guessing there's a lot more changes to come.
